RAS Aquaculture

Recirculating Aquaculture Systems are a sustainable way to raise fish on land, using clean, recycled water in a closed-loop environment. In Southern British Columbia, this approach allows warm-water finfish to thrive year-round, independent of ocean conditions. The water is continuously filtered, conserving resources and protecting local ecosystems. By controlling temperature, quality, and feed,  RAS technology produces healthy, fresh seafood with minimal waste - supporting local food security and a more sustainable future for coastal communities.

The future of seafood depends on sustainable innovation. Traditional ocean-pen fish farms face growing challenges - waste pollution, disease transfer, and pressure on wild ecosystems. In British Columbia, regulations are shifting to protect coastal waters, encouraging cleaner, land-based solutions. RAS offer a responsible alternative, producing high-quality fish without harming the ocean. By moving farming onto land, we can meet rising seafood demands while protecting marine environments for future generations.
